GLA Maintained Platted Roads
The GLA is charged with maintaining, plowing, grading and general upkeep for 19 miles of platted roads in North Glastonbury and South Glastonbury. The two main roads going into both North, Story Rd, and South, Dry Creek Rd, are county roads and are maintained by Park County.
On special occasion the GLA will help with these roads, but if there is an issue on one of these roads, the GLA president and road chair will reach out to the County Commissioners and Matt Wittman, Public Works, requesting corrective action. It is also helpful for taxpaying landowners to reach out to them.
The Road Committee is tasked with proposing seasonal maintenance to the GLA Board, monitoring road conditions for snow removal, and overseeing general road conditions between both neighborhoods. The Road Committee usually meets once per month and then presents their approved motions to the Board for approval. The Road Committee and scouts are volunteers that serve the community, and they can always use more active eyes and minds to help with the upkeep of GLA Roads. If you are interested in joining the Road Committee or would like to be a volunteer scout or dispatcher for snow removal, please contact us!

Snow Removal and Dispatching
Glastonbury road conditions are monitored and maintained by volunteer landowners and Directors serving typically serving on the Road Committee. The Road Committee is tasked with daily monitoring of conditions especially during the winter months with snow fall. Our snowplowing contractor is dispatched when snow accumulation exceeds three inches. The crew also sands as needed while plowing or when requested for unsafe road conditions.
This year Zane Curry is the dispatcher for South, and we still need a dispatcher for North, so if you are interested in being a dispatcher for North, please reach out to the Board.
Volunteer snow scouts monitor conditions, measure snow depths, and communicate directly with the GLA dispatcher. Please let us know if you would like to a snow scout.
We rely on our volunteer landowners to ensure safe driving conditions year round. The Road Committee will nominate a Road Chair at their next meeting, if you are interested in serving on the committee and / or chairing, please reach out.
Anyone in the community can email info@glamontana.org with a request to plow or sand GLA-platted roads. Please only make the request if snow or drift accumulation is more than three inches or if there is a very slick roads in need of sanding.
Sending along photos and identifying locations helps to pinpoint specific areas in need. The Board will pass this information on to the Road Committee that receives requests, inspects the reported road conditions, and dispatches the snowplowing/sanding crew, as necessary.
Driveways, unplatted roads, and Dry Creek Road plowing are not the responsibility of the GLA. Please call Park County Roads at 406-222-4137 to request plowing and/or sanding on Dry Creek Road.
If you observe the snow accumulation exceeds 3” or are very icy, please call the Board or contact the snow scouts.
